How to Look After Your Lash Extensions

How to Look After Your Lash Extensions

You may be brand new to lash extensions, or perhaps you are a regular lash connoisseur.

However, we think it’s important that you have all the right information to help you take care of your lashes.

Lash extensions are delicate and need a bit of TLC to ensure good retention. Below are a list of things that you should do to help maintain your lash extensions.

1- Avoid Water in the First 24 Hours After Your Appointment

The lash glue that is used to attach the extension to your natural eyelashes takes approximately 24 hours to completely dry. During that period, exposure to water or even steam, could weaken the adhesive, causing the extension to slowly detach from the lash and fall out prematurely.

2- Cleanse Your Lashes Daily

Washing your lashes daily with a lash cleanser will help to remove any build-up of dirt, oil, makeup, dead skin, and bacteria. It’s imperative to avoid lash mites, as they can cause redness, itchiness and dry eyes.

We recommended using Rustic Beauty Lash cleanser to keep your lashes clean and healthy.

3 - Brush Your Lashes Daily

We recommended using a small spoolie brush to comb through the lashes daily. It just takes a few seconds and we usually recommend doing it in the morning after your makeup routine.

Doing so will prevent the extensions from clumping together. It’s important to do it with all types of extensions but even more so with volume lashes because volume fans can get easily tangling.
